Youth News

The youth are continuing fundraisers to pay off mission trip expenses and to defray the cost of other future programs. These are some new and ongoing fundraisers:

▪ Blue Coast Burrito on highway 153 will give the church 10% of your bill on Sundays if you tell them you want them to donate to White Oak UMC.
▪ SunTrust is extending its offer to give us $100 for each checking account that is opened. Don’t forget to use your check card at least once and then call 866-266-2802 or log on to
www.suntrust.com/mycause and tell them you would like for them to donate to White Oak United Methodist Church.
Finally, Bi-Lo will donate 1% of your bill to the church when using your Bonus Card, and they also provide a 4% discount on gift cards. Gifts cards may be purchased in denominations of $25, $50, or $100 with a $500 minimum order. We will have enrollment forms available soon.

Wednesday Night College Bible Study – College-aged young adults, we have a new opportunity for you. Starting in July Tony Burgess will be leading Bible study just for you. Come to the youth house to start and then we will split you into your own group for some deeper study in the Bible.eeting:  Thursday, Feb. 28 @ 6PM.

Discovery or young adults and high school youth to enrich their personal walks with God, and to explore God's call on their lives into vocational ministry. Hey Youth...What's Next after High School

Go to College! Hey youth, does this sound familiar? White Oak wants to help send you to college by offering scholarship money — and it’s a lot easier than you think. Don’t let money stand in your way — you can do it. You can get started by picking up an application outside Dave’s door or simply downloading the application from our church web site.. The due date for the application is July 20th.

YouthWorks! is Coming.

White Oak UMC will be hosting YouthWorks! July 10 through August 11. YouthWorks! is a mission group similar to Project Crossroads that we work with in Marion. We will host 60-70 middle school youth and chaperones each week. They will be having meals and programs in the fellowship hall, afternoon meetings in the library and sleeping in various class rooms. In addition, we will have four college-aged staff members living in two rooms at the youth house.
