White Oak United Methodist Church will hold its Christmas Eve service at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 24. The service will feature lessons and carols. Holy communion will be served as well. This service is at a special time to accommodate those who need an earlier time. On Christmas Day, December 25th we will have our worship service at our usual time of 10:45 AM. There will be NO Sunday school. We welcome everyone to join us for these special events to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on Christmas weekend. _This year we are on a journey of Advent. Each Sunday will feature a unique message that will prepare us for Christ's coming. On Wednesday's we will study the Advent Journey from Pastor Adam Hamilton. This will be a great time of discovery and learning more about faith story. We welcome everyone to take this trip with us. We invite the community to join us for the first Sunday of Advent. Our pastor Rev. Amy Whatley will be preaching on "Mary of Nazareth" in our 10:45 worship service. We welcome the community to worship with us as we explore the Ten Commandments. Our chancel choir will have special music with guest musicians. We will also commemorate All Saints Sunday by remembering our members who have passed away in the past year. Our Sunday school classes start at 9:45 with coffee and donuts at 9:15. On Sunday, November 20th we will host a special guest during our Sunday School hour. Please greet Rev. Keith Moore in the Fellowship Hall and hear the latest from the Wesley Foundation. Rev. Yes its that time to start thinking about Christmas shoe boxes. They are now available to begin filling the with goodies. You will find them in the narthex and the Memorial Dr. vestibule. They will be labeled with age and gender. Have fun filling your box but please avoid toy guns or knives! A due date for the boxes will be announced but you may bring yours at any time and leave on the altar or in Amy’s office. These boxes will go to needy children here and abroad so please make a needy child part of your Christmas. We invite the community to join us for Laity Sunday where members of the congregation will be leading worship. Our church is blessed with great people who will share their gifts in worship.
