A new young adult group for post high school students is now meeting on Wednesdays at 6:00 in our youth house. This group is for folks who have just graduated from high school through their college years. We want to provide a place for young adult Christians to grow in their relationship with God. This group is led by Robert Whatley and Carla Quinn.

Join us for worship and the beginning of a new Sunday school class on July 4th, 2010. Our pastor Rev. Amy J. Cook will be leading a new Sunday school class on Bible Basics starting at 9:45 AM. This will be for those who need a refresher or a first time intro to the Bible.

During our worship service at 10:45 Rev. Cook will speak on "Independence Day" with scripture coming from Luke 10:1-11, 16-20. Holy communion will be served and special Music from the Youth Works team will highlight this special service.

Amy J. Cook to White Oak UMC for another year of service. In addition we honored the engagement of Amy and Robert as they will be married in 2011 at White Oak UMC. Special thanks to Mary Alice Thomas, Freddie Shirley and a host of helpers who made this possible. Much fun was had by all.

White Oak United Methodist Church welcomes back Rev. Amy Cook as our pastor for 2010-2011. She was reappointed at the Holston Annual Conference meetings at Lake Junaluska, NC. Rev. Cook begins her 3rd year of ministry with the church and has brought a great spirit to the congregation.
